Your body’s a temple – mine’s an amusement park.

17 Feb Posted by in Random Observations | 1 comment

Your body is a temple. Mine is an amusement park – from far away it may look impressive, but get up close and most of the rides are broken, the signs need paint, and the upkeep costs more than the price for admission. But this amusement park will not be torn down or replaced with new and better. Because it still has purpose. When people come here their hearts are healed – and they walk away knowing they’ve had the ride of their life. Don’t be fooled into thinking your flashy lights make you special.

(PS My husband says my body is not an amusement park – it’s a shotgun shack. I don’t even know what that is – but I’m thinking it’s not a compliment.)

Rather have a broke-down amusement park that’s real and true rather than the flashy rides that leave you nauseated anyday. Press on, friend. (And for the record, yours is a temple.)
