What Makes YOUR Job Hard?

29 Apr Posted by in Business | 2 comments

As a  motivational speaker I am hired to help motivate you to see your job in a new light – to lift you up to a renewed sense of passion and purpose for who you are and what you do. But to do this, I need to know where you are stuck. So please help me out and tell me what makes your job hard. Vent away. (And for the record, motherhood is a job too! Duh.)

As you know I work for a homeless shelter for men, women and children. My office is in the women and children’s facility. I absolutely love my job and thank God every day for bringing me here but what makes it hard sometimes is the faces of the children, the situations that brought them here, etc. What is really hard is when a mother decides to leave before she needs to and you can hear her son crying as they go out the door saying”where are we going to sleep tonght, why are we leaving….I don’t want to leave my friends”…. talk about tugging on the ole heart strings. So I guess you could say that the emotional factor of my job is what is hard. But I can tell you the flip side…there is nothing better than to celebrate with a resident who has gotten a job and found an apartment and has saved up some savings and they are ready to step back out into the world proud, confident and self sufficient… Sometimes my heart is so full I have to just get on my knees and cry to my heavenlyFather “THANK YOU for your love, grace and mercy… THANK YOU”!!!!!
